Selections of Susan K. Friedland's work were shown in December of 2017 at Miami Art Basel in a show titled "Noise".
Susan was a an Honorable Mention in the Equine Ideal Spring 2015 Photography Contest. Abstract Equine III won an honorable mention in the Professional Category Artistic Details.
The top images from Cowboy’s & Indians Magazine annual photo contest were featured in their March, 2012 issue. Among those selected to appear in this Special Collector’s Edition was Susan’s photograph, “Four Friends”.
“Tomodachi” won first place in the 2009 Unifem Fundraiser, Mother, Sister, Daughter: A Global Tapestry. The mission of Unifem and it’s Goodwill Ambassador, Nicole Kidman, is to reduce poverty and violence against women.
“Equs” was chosen in a juried competition by Anna Walker Skillman to appear in the Atlanta Photography Group’s “Anna Skillman Selects”.
Anna Walker Skillman, owner of Jackson Fine Art, remarked on Equs saying “as one enters the gallery space, the first wall that greets the viewer has a dream-like southern-ness quality...The Horse portrait is grand and mesmerizing both in its size and imagery... the soft quality of the land, almost pictorial."
